Digital Imaging
We are proud to use advanced diagnostic technology to provide the highest level of care for our patients. Our practice has recently invested in a Planmeca CBCT, allowing for enhanced diagnostics and more precise treatment planning. This technology gives our doctors a detailed, three-dimensional view of your teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures—helping us diagnose conditions more accurately and earlier than ever before.
Dr. Fredal, Dr. Fredal Malek, Dr. Fredal Downs or Dr. Dow carefully determine which radiographs are needed and when, following established clinical guidelines to ensure your safety and comfort. Dental radiographs allow us to see what cannot be detected with the naked eye, including cavities between teeth, bone levels, root and nerve health, cysts or tumors, and damage caused by trauma.
Our office utilizes digital imaging technologies, which significantly reduce radiation exposure—up to 50% less than traditional radiographs—while delivering clearer, more detailed images. Digital imaging also enhances our ability to detect cavities and other concerns with greater accuracy.
In addition, digital imaging allows us to securely store your records and easily share images with specialists or insurance providers when needed, supporting seamless communication and coordinated care.
Digital X-Rays:
Digital X-rays offer greater precision because images are viewed instantly on a computer monitor rather than on traditional 35mm film. Our practice also utilizes advanced digital imaging technology, including a CBCT system capable of super low-radiation dose imaging, providing highly detailed images while prioritizing patient safety.
Compared to traditional X-rays, digital X-rays result in approximately one-sixth of the radiation exposure, allowing us to deliver accurate diagnostics with significantly reduced radiation.
Intraoral Camera
Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with the high tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.
Dr. Fredal, Dr. Fredal Malek, Dr. Fredal Downs and Dr. Downs utilize Intraoral Camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An Intraoral Camera is a very small camera – in some cases, just a few millimeters long. An Intraoral Camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!
Intraoral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in our office computer to provide a permanent record of treatments. These images can be printed for you, other specialists, and your lab or insurance companies.
